THE STORY

Ron Keller is a U.S. citizen age roughly 66 who runs, or has run, a public business in Tracy, California for, it is believed, over a decade. The business operates at, or has operated at, 723 Katlin Ct, Tracy, CA. In fact, the property at that address is the business. Mr. Keller rents from 1 to 3 rooms at a time to transients.

Technical note: At times, 1 of the 3 rooms is reserved for Ron's adult son Ian Keller, product of the first marriage mentioned below.

Ian is most likely the most important person on the planet to Ron. One of Ron's great­est fears is that Ian will cease to speak to him. This fear leaves Ron unable to say things to Ian that he'd like to say.

Mr. Keller is likable but conflicted. He's violent at times to the point of striking walls hard enough that objects fall down. This part is about OCD as opposed to ill intent. It may have con­tribu­ted, regard­less, to the end of his first mar­riage, which lasted from 1997 to 2007.

Ron is inflex­ible even in minor situa­tions that call for flexi­bility and this leads to stress. Yet he holds kind­ness to animals and respon­si­bil­i­ties of other types to be the high­est virtues. It's an inter­est­ing mix.

To complicate matters, Ron has medical issues and he's in a second marriage based on online court­ship that hasn't worked out. The marital issues are causing him further stress which is degrad­ing his health. He needs to accept the fact that mar­riage is a two-way street and he's the only one on the road in the cur­rent rela­tion­ship. He honks the horn and nobody honks back. This is stated as gently as pos­si­ble.

To be clear, both Ron and his second wife, Feng Ying aka Fengyin, are good enough people and sincere in inten­tions. However, their priorities are dif­fer­ent and there isn't enough of a match.

Money is part of it. Feng Ying has felt that Ron is too focus­ed on what she sees as nickel and diming. Ron's per­spec­tive is that Feng Ying isn't dis­ci­plined in terms of a budget.

Many couples have sim­i­lar issues and it isn't a deal-break­er. However, in this case, money was the trig­ger for a near divorce in Winter 2017 [4 years into the relationship]. Feng Ying told Ron that he was a miser and filed for a divorce on that basis.

This said, money isn't the core issue. The heart of the matter is that there are com­mon inter­ests such as trips to idyllic loca­tions but a bond based on close com­mun­i­ca­tion is lack­ing.

As part of the picture, Mr. Keller most likely has a mental con­di­tion known as MCI or Mild Cog­ni­tive Impair­ment. MCI is a pre­cur­sor to senile demen­tia though the tran­si­tion isn't inevi­ta­ble.

Ron has this writer's sympathy. However, the take-away is that Mr. Keller isn't equipped to run the business that he's engaged in.

The legal issue is that in Spring 2026 Ron Keller violated Federal and/or State laws in con­nec­tion with the busi­ness. He needs to cease oper­a­tion volun­tar­ily or face actions at the Office of Civil Rights or other levels. The dam­ages that Mr. Keller has caused re­quire dis­cus­sion as well.
